The Emerson String Quartet has been anchoring the International Chamber Music Series since 1988 when they made their Seattle debut right here on the Meany stage. With more than 90 worldwide engagements this past season alone, the Quartet shows no signs of slowing down. The critics’ admiration for the Emerson is nearly universal and sometimes exceptional, as when a reviewer for the The Times (London) remarked: “with musicians like this there must be some hope for humanity.” These 2010 Grammy Award-winning favorites sell out, so purchase your tickets early!
Pianist Craig Sheppard will join the Emerson String Quartet on stage in the second half of the evening for a performance of Brahms’ beautiful Piano Quintet, Op. 34.
