Madrid-born Angel Corella first came to the wide-spread attention of dance audiences, critics and choreographers as a principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre. After more than 15 years with ABT, Corella has taken his passion for dance in new directions. In 2001, he created the Angel Corella Foundation to promote classical ballet in Spain. In 2008, he founded the Corella Ballet, currently Spain’s only classical ballet company. This troupe has been praised for its “clarity of movement… solid technique…[and] athletic prowess” (www.ballet.co.uk).
