“Blasts of choreographic excitement.” —The New York Times
A Meany Hall debut! Founded in 1995, Chunky Move has earned an enviable reputation for producing a distinct yet unpredictable brand of genre-defying dance performance. The company seeks to redefine contemporary dance within an ever-evolving Australian culture. Its work is diverse in form and content, ranging from stage and site specific pieces to new-media and installations. In Connected, the work the company will perform on our Series, Chunky Move teams up with Californian artist, Reuben Margolin. The result is an animation of both body and machine through physical connection between the dancers and Margolin’s purpose-built, kinetic sculpture.
